Psalm 60
3 Lessons here:
God will do whatever he pleases.
God owns everything.
Call on the Lord to be your strength.
God will do all that he pleases. He has no responsibility to you. Because you believe in God and you follow the 3 basic steps of making him on your side means nothing whatsoever. God had mercy when he wishes. He pours out wrath when he pleases. The Lord is not sadistic. He is good, but still good and bad happens to every person whether they are his child or not. The purpose is His to have and he has a purpose for all that he does.
God owns everything. He is the creator. There is no force that can stop God from anything. He needs nothing. All that you have is his, therefore treat it all like it belongs to God.
Ask him for help. In order to glorify the Lord we must draw all strength from him. How we survive the trials in life is through Him. How we handle abundance and poverty is found in getting strength from God and nothing else.

Psalm 59
BibleGateway.com Psalm 59
The Lord our God alone can protect us. God alone protects us from our enemies. The fact is I can do nothing good apart from God. In Christ I am empowered to reflect the glory of God.
To be the enemy of God is a frightful thing but we are all in that position after the fall. We are rebels by birth. We will always chose to fight the ways of God. The wrath will be horrible and no matter what you think of Christians all people will wish they could be on God's side once it happens. Hell is real and will last forever. God's justice is infinite and he will not decide to let everyone into his presence after a certain period of time. The punishment for profaning our Creator will last forever. The great hope is he has let us reconcile! Seek Christ and you will not be turned away.

Lord, vindicate the righteous and punish the wicked. Who of all of us is not in rebellion against you? Thank you for you Son so that righteousness can be counted to me. If not for you I could never know the sweetness and warmth of your presence. Your wrath is justified on all and your mercy is sweet to who ever you find favor. Lord for the sake of your name do not allow it to be profaned any longer. Make known your greatness to the earth. Make my joy complete by letting me see your face!

Psalm 57
BibleGateway.com Psalm 57
The Lord is my refuge. In who else can we rest? The Lord provides rest for his children and daily I am to seek being in that rest. He is the one that saves us! He sends from heaven to save us (v3). We are surrounded at all times by the way our enemy would love to take us down. Be alert (1 Peter 5:8).
I cannot awaken my own soul, I was dead until the Spirit of the True Living God came into me and made me alive.
For this way, God recieves all glory, honor and praise for I can reserve none for myself. It is our natural tendency to try to get some credit or praise but God will not share His glory with the clay pots. Rejoice for he has allowed the overflow to fill you to the brim and make no mistake the glory is still the LORDS.

Psalm 56
BibleGateway.com Psalm 56
When living as aliens in this world we are constantly under attack. If we ever let our guard down low we can expect to be hit. If we are afraid put our trust in God. He is in control of all things. If God the creator of all things is where my trust lies what do I have to fear? This mortal body will decay either slowly or quickly. Over time or at the hands of the heathen my life may end but at death is where I truly start to live. I have been promised resurrection, so if I die I will be back. No power can separate me from the love of God. He is sovereign over all powers and if it were not for him allowing them to exist they would become nothing.

Psalm 55
BibleGateway.com Psalm 55
Trust in the Lord no matter what the treacherous around you do. How hard is it to take into your own hands and give the reaction they so richly deserve. We are to turn over vengeance to the Lord. He will do it in a way that we could never compare. Why hold on bitterly to hatred and hurt. Our Lord will comfort our fear and give wrath to the wrong doer. Remember that our God wins and our eternal future is absent of the ways of this world. We only must wait a short time before all will be made right.

Psalm 54
BibleGateway.com Psalm 54
The Lord jealously protects the honor of His name! We call on him in the name of Jesus to "Save me". That is what give us confidence in knowing we have been made right with the Lord. He will not change his mind at the very end of time and say sorry, I don't want you. For the glory of His name he will keep his promise to draw near to those that call on Him.
Our victory over our foes may not come in the time or fashion we think. In the end the wicked will get all they deserve and our foes will face the error of their ways.

Psalm 53
BibleGateway.com Passage Lookup: Psalm 53
Verse 1 -
In the atheist heart there is still a tugging that continues to call out for reconciliation to the creator and King of the universe. Only a fool denies this knowledge. The person who claims there is no God is looking at the mirror and not knowing what they look like. You must wickedly twist your reality in order to claim there is no God. We know that not one of us though is innocent there is "no one who does good". Every time we put anything above the rightful place of God we are joining in the saying of fools. To deny God's existence or his Sovereignty is equally reprehensible to the site of the Lord and we have all done it by trying to command our own lives.
Verse 2 -
God is looking for us to seek him. There are many who seek there own personal fulfillment through religion but who actually seeks to be in the presence of the one true God?
Verse 3 and 4-
Once again I have turned away I am full of deceit and evil, I use people for my own gain and satisfaction and comfort.
Verse 5 -
God will put to shame those that continue to attack and rebel against the Most High.
Verse 6 -
We must rejoice for not all is lost! The salvation of the Lord has come to Zion. Through Christ we have been made free or our slavery to sin. We have been made alive to God. You have gained the greatest reward at no price to yourself. The Lord Jesus paid the price and has given us forgiveness. When you were forgiven you were brought the most wonderful treasure in all the universe - relationship with our glorious Lord has been restored! REJOICE all you people of God!

Psalm 52
Psalm 52
This is the description of the American rebellion toward God. It is nothing new as you can see. To trust in your strongholds and wealth rather than the Lord is foolishness.
In the culture you are told to depend on yourself. That the "strength is inside you". This makes everyone feel nice and cuddly on the inside but it is a foul smell to God. How far will your great wealth get you after you die? Absolutley nowhere.
Put your trust in the only one that can actually provide all you need and more for all eternity. The ruler of this world may make you happy for 76 years but for the 10 Billion after that? You will be in utter despair with no chance of hope. The time is now to trust the Creator, the Lord, the Giver of all things.
Jim Elliott - "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain what he will never lose."

BibleGateway.com Psalm 51
Lord may your great power cleanse me from my sin. Just like David had done what is the worst. You are still able to make us white as snow. Lord make this my prayer when I have sinned against you. Do not cast me from your presence or take yout Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation.
It is not our sacrifice that God delights in v16. God commanded the sacrifices but he did not take pleasure in them. Why then did God have Isreal do the sacrifices? The sacrifices were to remind us to have a broken and contrite heart before God. Human nature is we are paying God for his favor by giving Him a sacrifice. God doesn't eat the meat from the sacrifice! Who are you that the Lord need anything from you? No one can give back to God, he does all that he pleases and we should be grateful that His mercy has allowed for his good pleasure to give us far more than we deserve.

Psalm 50
Psalm 50
The Lord is in control of all things. He created the entire earth. Do not for one second think you are so worthy as you service is needed by God. Do you think he created you because he needed you to do stuff for him? That is a lie from the devil that men who think they are doing good embrace in order to justify their self sanctification. Look at v. 22 though, "I will tear you to pieces, with none to rescue." Your service will not save you from the wrath of God. Everyday it is mercy that he doesn't drop you into hell to suffer for eternity. The Lord's justice will be satisfied while he waits it is piling up higher than you can imagine. When you finally stand before the judgement seat your service and sacrifice will get you no where. The only one that can substitute for you is Jesus Christ. He took your punishment so that you can be covered in His real righteousness. Seek Jesus first before the time comes for judgement because at that point it will be too late.

Lord help me to not be short sited in this world. Often we can see only the comforts and delights presented by this place. We let them decieve us into thinking there is nothing better. Lord you are better than all things. Today help me to know that not a single person will bring anything with them. There is no need to worry about who has and who has not in this world. In the eternity to come we that are your children will have more than can ever be imagined. Help my site be fixed on your worth Lord. That I may love you over all things on this earth today.

Psalm 48
Psalm 48
The Lord is forever. When God is with us who can be against us?
The fact is the Lord does everything he pleases. He put the authority above you. He gave you responsibility for those below you. You are right where he wants you to be. That doesn't always mean you are doing exactly what he wants you to do. My God is sovereign, and can trump all of man's sin to complete His purposes. No sin, no devil, no demon can ever stop God from completing what He wishes.
What is God trying to do then?
1. He wants you to trust him. This means that all hope is in God. When you know that you can not do a thing on your own and that God is the only way you begin to put trust in him.
2. The reason he wants you to trust him is so he will be glorified. God does not need to be served by anyone, angels or man. He allows us the privilege of serving him so that his goodness and mercy will be reflected in our lives.

Psalm 47
BibleGateway.com Psalm 47
If there was one thing we are to always sing praises, it is the work of our God. He has done an amazing work to bring us into his family. The Lord died so that we might have life. The Lord rose again so that we can have hope. He is the King of the Universe and Creator of all things.
Verse 9 shows us that our God is in control of all the rulers of this world. They can do nothing unless he lets them and in a second he will remove them from power so that his name and word will spread to people that never have heard of him before. Praise to our God who is Lord of all!

Verse 9
He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear,
he burns the shields with fire.
God is in control of all! He will break and burn this earth (v6-9). Then God makes a interesting turn in the midst off all the power against the nations. Verse 10, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
Yet the earth and the nations fight in vain. Have you ever wrestled with a little kid? At some point it is no longer fun. The child never learns that he can not win. Until you hold him and say, "Be still!" I figure this is what the Lord is saying to the nations. I have controlled every move in your rebelliousness against me. I have never given in an inch. Stop now! You will exalt the Lord whether you like it or not. He never changes, never compromises and will never lose. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus to be Lord. It would be best if you started now.

Psalm 45
BibleGateway.com Psalm 45
Verse 4
In your majesty ride forth victoriously
in behalf of truth, humility and righteousness;
let your right hand display awesome deeds.
Let us never forget the majesty of our Lord. The one thing we should desire most is Christ's return. We should long for the day where he rides forth victoriously and the nations will fall beneath his feet (v5).
We desire this not to see our own enemies trampled and defeated. We look for this because of the greatness of the Lord's Glory. It will be more than enough to keep us occupied for eternity. You will never grow tired of God's glory. Seeing it everyday is the essence of being with him in heaven. After 1 million years it will seem to have been just a minute and you will only want to be with him forever and ever.

Psalm 44
BibleGateway.com Psalm 44
How do we reconcile the fact that God who is sovereign allows his people to suffer. Even the people that have not forgotten His name(v17)?
When you read all the bad that happened to these people you think. That is what they deserve for accepting false god's and worshiping idols. They had not (v20).
Verse 22 shines some light on the picture. For the sake of the Lord, we face death all day long. Has God really rejected His people? Is there another explanation?
Isaiah 53
In Isaiah 53 we see that whoever this is about is despised, smitten, afflicted, pierced, crushed, chastened, scourged, oppressed, afflicted again, led to slaughter, oppressed again, and judged.
It says the Lord was pleased to crush him. God allowed Jesus to receive every single one of these things, to the letter. Then in verse 10 it says the Lord was pleased? God did not have to come and die on this earth for you. He wanted to because it pleased him. God is happy in His name and he is happy to do good to you. In the death of Jesus both of these occurred. He was able to make you right with himself. You no longer owe a wage for your sin. This is good beyond your wildest dream (and that isn't even the best part). God glorified his own name by remaining just! The price was death, and the most precious of lives was taken for His name.
So when you think that God is unfair to allow suffering to occur on His children. Think of the suffering he cause on Jesus and rejoice that you may be counted worthy to experience the same things as our treasured Jesus (1 Peter 4:13).
Romans 8:36-39
If there were not things trying to peel us out of God's own hand how would he be glorified. God uses the suffering to "overwhelmingly conquer" (v37 NASB) through Him. This means when we suffer and even though God allows it we cannot lose. It isn't even going to extra innings. It will not be close. He has us in his hand no matter what. Whether you suffer or not is not up to how you perform! You can do good and get led off to slaughter like in Psalm 44 or do bad like in Jeremiah 12. Be joyful that you are the Lords and if you suffer he is doing it to reflect his own glory off of you. You will come out of this or die trying, like Paul said, "to live is Christ and to die is gain (Philippians 1:21)."

BibleGateway.com Psalm 42
Is it right to look introspectively at yourself? What do you see?
Ask, why are you so downcast, O my soul?
Why?
My enemies seem to triumph. My life is full of discontent and bad feelings. Clutter and chaos crowd into my life when I seek order. Complacency crushes my desire for spontaneity.
I lack the discipline necessary to get where I most desire. My drive does not push as far as I want. The trap of this life holds me. My world is small, and my actions are insignificant. The daily grind conforms me to the American rut.
BUT, put your hope in God. I WILL yet praise him, my saviour and my God. Lord this soul is crushed, I will be weak so you will be strong. Be my joy. The waves have washed over me. I can hold to nothing else. Why must I be oppressed by the enemy LORD?
Save me, hold me, I want to see your face Lord Jesus. This flesh is rotting on me. Please God take it and make it alive. I want to finish this now and see what you have for eternity.
I will yet praise him. I will yet praise him...

Psalm 41
BibleGateway.com Psalm 41
What does it mean to have regard for the weak?
Lord, have mercy on me. I often scoff at the weak around me. I get tired of people that may not be as fortunate as me. I grumble when they are slow in the store. I shake when they do something bad on the road. Lord forgive my lack of mercy. Teach me to love the people you have put in my life the way you love them. Thank you Jesus for your final triumph. No longer will any enemy of mine win. In the end all will say Christ is Lord!

Psalm 40
BibleGateway.com Psalm 40
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and salvation.
I do not conceal your love and your truth
from the great assembly.
Lord give me the chance this week to proclaim what you have done in my life. You have put your righteousness in my heart. I will not be silent. I will cry out in joy for my soul has been made alive! I was once dead and now I am alive. Like Lazurus, Jesus called my name and I came forth from the pit. Lord thank you for your Son. May your name be praised for ever. You are awesome God. You reign over all creation and my heart cries out for your presence here. Lord come. Hear my cry and come.

Psalm 39
BibleGateway.com Psalm 39
5 You have made my days a mere handbreadth;
the span of my years is as nothing before you.
Each man's life is but a breath.
Selah
6 Man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro:
He bustles about, but only in vain;
he heaps up wealth, not knowing who will get it.
Lord, you are my strength. My hope is in you. I have never been able to do what you want from me. I depend solely on you. My life is quick Lord, please help me to do here what I can to glorify your name. For I have eternity in my furture. Your grace has allowed me to live with you forever. Still there are ones here that need you more than I need comfort and treasure in this life. Let me do all I can, with all I have, for as long as you give me days here on earth.

Psalm 38
BibleGateway.com Psalm 38
Our sin is oppressive. As Christians when we sin we are disciplined like sons. The hand of God is heavy. Still you punish your sons to instill character in them. God punishes his sons to put his character in them. We are feeble and utterly crushed (v. 8). When are foot slips it also give our enemies a chance to pounce upon us. Defame our faith. God is not far during these times. Even when it seems impossible to live through what God is doing in my life, I know when I look at him it is his love that will strengthen me and his mercy that will keep me from being put out of his presence forever.
Some may say, God punished Jesus to take the place for our sin. It is true, our sin is paid for but our consequences for actions on this earth are not removed. If you steal, you will be punished. God has forgiven you and adopted you as a son. Given you an inheritance beyond all comprehension. That is why it is so ridiculous to still be caught up in sin when you are a child of God. It still happens because we look to the world around us to supply what only God can. We look for satisfaction in the wrong places. We look for relationship in the wrong way. Make Christ your satisfaction. Make Christ your first love! Make Christ Lord of all your life! When you ignore him and do what you want you put yourself on the throne of God. He won't stand for it. Be glad for his mercy. Thankful for his grace. Do not cheapen the faith he has established. Forsake the way of the world. Treasure Jesus above all.

Psalm 37
BibleGateway.com Psalm 37
Trust in the LORD and you will have hope and a future. Turn from evil and do good. How do you do this?
It does not seem like we are in a land where the righteous prosper and the wicked perish. All around us the wicked prosper and the righteous suffer. LORD hear our call, bring your Kingdom to this earth. destroy the wicked and give to your righteous people all the land.
We must understand we as Christians are between two kingdoms. We physically live in the kingdom of darkness, but our citizenship is in the Kingdom of the LORD. Our souls cry out to be there. To have our new bodies that are perfected and glorified. We are to desire Christ alone. In this world we seem caught in a swampy mess of wickedness. Can we ever escape? Hope in the LORD. The day where the righteous will prosper and the wicked will perish is coming in his time.

Psalm 36
BibleGateway.com Psalm 36
Do you think being with God will be boring? When finally you come into the presence of the Almight God will you think that you will miss your Big Screen TV and Surround Sound Theatre room? If you for one second would trade these things for the presense of the LORD you will know what your true god is.
His unfailing love is priceless. We will feast in the abundace of his house. Think for a second. God is the creator of all things. He owns all things. So when you picture a feast of abundance at God's table it is too small. Whatever you can think of in your head is too small. Think of the best thing you can imagine. God's abundace will put that to shame.
Now imagine trying to drink a river. God's delights are like a river according to verse 8. You will drink enough to be full. Will the river ever look empty?

Psalm 35
BibleGateway.com Psalm 35
This Psalm reminds me that no matter how much I pray or do for the lost in this world they will always look for my failure. We can serve those around us, love them, feed them and clothe them. Still the lost will be lost. They will rejoice at the suffering of God's people. There will be people in this world that will never come to Christ. You will love them and show them Christ your whole life. They will always remain lost. It is because what we do will not change their hearts. We have to love them no matter what. God says that we will be known by our love. Part of that is we will know everyone else by their lack of love. Only Christians can serve a people group for a lifetime with no results and still have hope. Our hope and joy does not come from the reactions of this fallen world. We have hope in Christ, and our joy is to see His will done. So when the unfair world comes after you. Pray to God for joy that his will is perfect.

Psalm 34
BibleGateway.com Psalm 34
We want to praise God at all times. How can we do that?
Always have his name on your lips. Talk about Jesus like he really is the most important thing in your life. You know people that have dogs talk about them all the time. "My puppy did can sit and run now." People with kids are even worse. Their lives revolve around these central things in their lives. You know this becuase it is all they talk about.
Why can't our relationship with God be the same? "Today, God loves me even though I don't deserve it." OR "Did you know that Jesus healed a woman that just touched his robe?" Always brag on Christ and Christ alone. He has done enought awesome things for you to talk about for the rest of your life. Today, brag on Jesus to someone else. Keep his name and his deeds on your lips.

Psalm 33
BibleGateway.com Psalm 33
God has his own way of doing things. Often we have our own plans. Only our God would send his Son to suffer and die in order to take the place for the suffering and death we were to experience as the just punishment for our sinfulness.
Despite all the the strength of anything you can find here on earth. It cannot save you. Every scheme and plan to get to God will fail. God will thwart their purposes.
Since the LORD is the creator and author of everything he alone sets the rules for reconciliation. The way of the LORD will frustrate the wisdom of this world. To me, it all makes such perfect sense it is nearly impossible to fathom anyone rejecting Christ. Until you think about how it is not by my own understanding that I accept and have faith in Christ. God did a miracle inside of me that enabled me to understand clearly what Jesus has done for me. Every non-believer out there will never understand the Gospel until God transforms their hearts. So pray with me that God will do a miracle in hearts of those around us. It is not a difficult task for Him.
My prayer:
Lord open the eyes and the hearts of the people in China. Foil the plans of the nation, you give the place of all governments. Remove the government of China and North Korea for the glory of your name so that your children in those places will come to know you today. Thank you Lord for your sovereign will. Amen.

Psalm 32
BibleGateway.com Psalm 32
It is hard to admit your sin. The oppression of sin is like the heat of summer beating down on you. It takes all your energy. When you confess your transgressions and uncover your iniquity. The LORD forgives you. You stand and sing, the righteous are rejoicing!
Daily I need to remember the oppression I from which I have been freed. It gives us cause for joy. Even more we are able to one day see the face of the savior. Christ is our treasure and we will soon dance for eternity in the joy of our LORD.
Do you feel oppressed right now? Ask God to reveal your iniquity. Confess to him you sin and you don't even know it. Ask him to keep teaching you his ways. He will not leave you lonely.

Psalm 31
BibleGateway.com Psalm 31;
Hope in the LORD.
Where is your hope? In what things do you trust your future?
Trust in the LORD everyone. What does it mean to trust in Him? The LORD Jesus gives us all things. Without him you have nothing. Every breath that you take comes from him. The question is this how can you NOT trust the LORD? The biggest thing is at one point in this world your breath will cease. Your time here on the earth is limited. Do you trust that Jesus suffered and died and rose from the dead so that you can be reconciled to God? So when you no longer receive your undeserved life on this earth will you be with Christ for eternity because of the Grace of God. If you do not put your trust in him the result will be horrible. Hell is real and without him we all deserve to be there right now! Not just when we die. We deserve to be forever separated from God right now. Trusting in him gives you the only real security on this planet. The only comfort is in the arms of Christ. Run to him. Run to him now. The time is right.

Psalm 30
BibleGateway.com Psalm 30
The LORD bring me my joy. Without him my joy is nothing. The time of mourning the time of suffering and not being in our full joy in Christ's presence is only temporary. The LORD favors and loves us for His own glory. We reflect the praise that only God deserves. We will one day dance with joy in praise of our LORD. We cannot be silent. When our joy is real we have to let it out. If we don't the rocks will cry out in our place. The LORD is glorious and we should praise him above all things.

Psalm 29
BibleGateway.com Psalm 29
The root of sin to to take God out of his rightful place. Give him the glory due his name. We often let things get between us and God. We fall down and call glory to our jobs, cars, houses, and children. As we see here God's voice can rock the world. He can break apart entire forests.
Have a picture of God on the throne. He alone is there and deserves to be. You cannot put anything else there and still call God your Lord.

BibleGateway.com Psalm 28;
When you actually read scripture you can see that to be on the opposite side from God will not be a good place to be. Lord thank you for making me your child. I deserve to be dragged away with the wicked, to be repayed for my deeds. You would tear me down and never build me up again. Praise you LORD for all you have done to make me right with you. I could not do it on my own. Your mercy is great and you are my strength.

Psalm 27
BibleGateway.com Psalm 27
The LORD is our light and salvation. How often do we think that this term "The LORD" just means a generic term for God? Kind of like calling God the King? When you see the term "The LORD" this is the name of God. Yahweh. You might know it as the mis-translation of Jehovah. The name of God is important. God told Moses what the he is "I AM". Which is the name of the LORD, or Yahweh translated. So when David writes here The LORD is my my light and my salvation he is pointing to a specific God. The same God that talked to Moses as the form of a burning bush. The same God that made a covenent with Abraham.
When Christians say that Jesus is Lord, they are connecting the dots of divinity from Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David all the way to Jesus. The old testament points to Jesus at every turn it seems.
Some people may say, "Jesus never said he was Yahweh. He never claimed to be God." This is a lie. in John 8 Jesus says plainly, "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"
He didn't say I am older than Abraham. If he had said that, the people would have known he was a fraud. When Jesus says, "I am" he is saying I am the always existing LORD. The I AM. We know this is what he meant and this is what was understood by the people he talked to by their reaction.
Read John 8 and see for yourself. He tries to tell the people who is numerous times, he finally has to be blunt enough to tie who he is to the same phrase he used when he talked to Moses in the burning bush. They know exactly who Jesus is, and they want to kill him for it.

Have a desire for the LORD. Love the house where he lives! Lord teach me to not sit idle while sin runs over this world. I pray I will not love the sin. Admire or even wish for my former days where I did whatever I wanted and sinned in new ways everyday. Lord I pray that you teach me to treasure your Kingdom and treasure your face above all. Lord I long for your presence. Please be with me now and always. Amen.

BibleGateway.com Psalm 25
Ask the Lord to teach you his ways. He is good and upright and he will teach you how to live the way he wants if you ask him. Ask him to forgive you for trying to do it all on your own, acknowledge the LORD's rightful place in your life. He really does know better. Only he can release you from your captivity.
Lord please make us to know you. Teach us to walk in your ways. I pray we learn that you are the source for our salvation. You release us! We don't release ourselves by a decision or prayer or walking to the front of the church. You change our hearts and we are never the same again. We will always be in your joy and protection. Thank you Jesus for the saving work on the cross. Now grace has made me free!

Psalm 24
BibleGateway.com Psalm 24
How often do you think that something is yours? The "Supreme Court" of the United States just ruled the government can take your property for the public good. The fact is the LORD can take "your" property for any reason he wishes, because "The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;" Do you know you belong to God. How must we sound like little children to him, squabling about what is mine and yours. When Jesus says give it all and follow me, it is no loss because it is all HIS. What do you have that you were not given by God. Hard to imagine in this country because of the "American dream" we think we can do anything. The fact is you can do nothing apart from Jesus. He give it all to you. Someday he will return and ask what you did with what he gave over to you. What will your response be?
Your answer will be dependant on your stance with God. Verse four gives some criteria. Verse five clues us completly in: "vindication from God his Savior." You can be saved only by God, you cannot climb his hill on your own, you cannot stand in his holy place. Seek the Lord, treasure His face.
Long for the gates to open and the King of Glory to come in. Lord I scream and ache for your presence on this earth. To make things right again. To end the ripping of my flesh between this world and my desire for you. I want to seek you with my whole heart to love you with my every molecule. The King of Glory is the LORD Almighty. The only true ruler and rightful King of my heart and yours. Make him king of your life and be free.

To end the ripping of my flesh between this world and my desire for you. I want to seek you with my whole heart to love you with my every molecule. The King of Glory is the LORD Almighty. The only true ruler and rightful King of my heart and yours. Make him king of your life and be free.
Psalm 23
BibleGateway.com Psalm 23
Sorry this is a day late...
When the LORD is your shepherd. What do you need? He provides everything you need. Not ony that but the LORD will restore your soul. Why does he do this? His name's sake.
What does it mean for his name's sake? God's name is his reputation. He protects it always. Those that profane the name of God better beware, he will at once put an end to all mocking of his name. What do we as believers have to do with his name? The reason God restores us to the paths of righteousness is to reflect the glory of his name. When God makes us part of his family we become like mirrors that are meant to reflect his worth, reflect the glory of his name. We can not add to his glory or his worth. The worthiness of God is infinite and nothing you bring can add to it. All other pretend gods want to be served and carried around, they are needy. The worth of the fake gods of this world is reflected by how much man can give or do for him. The One True God gives to me because he has all worth already. When he makes me joyful in him, I reflect his worth to everyone around me.
Does this joy exempt me from the troubles of life? Shield me from the suffering of this world? Not at all, and sometimes it seems to be increased on those that have the Lord with them. In contrast though because the LORD is with me I will fear no evil. As Paul said, "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." The reason a Christian does not need to fear evil is because at death, eternity begins. The capacity to enjoy all that God is fully is that much closer. So do not protect your life as if it is all you have. You have been given the riches of the universe for all eternity.
Lord, how can I live today to reflect the glory of your name? I want the whole world to see how my cup overflows. I want them to come dwell with me in the joy of the Lord, forever.

Psalm 22
BibleGateway.com Psalm 22
The most amazing of the Psalms I have read so far. I hope you feel the same. How did David give such a vivid portayal of Christ's torture and death?
We are to understand that the Lord knew exactly what would happen before he even got there. Even more he knew that after his death what would happen. The poor would eat and be satisfied.
We are the people that are poor. Because of His gruesome death we can eat and be satisfied. How much more do we need to say that Jesus is the way, the truth and the Life.
Read this Psalm, and you are close to the Lord's heart about his own death here on earth. It was written hundreds of years before!
O LORD, we praise your name. You are amazing and holy and awesome and true. How can we see the reminders of what it took to make me know you and not fall to my knees and praise your name! I have nothing without you Jesus. Be my all. There is no way I can hide the joy you have given me at the cost of your Son o Lord. Praise you, o LORD God Almighty.

Psalm 21
BibleGateway.com Psalm 21
God alone has the strength to make us victorious. We learn here that it will not be good to be an enemy of God. You will have no choice but run; but who can outrun God?
What attitude do we need to have in order to praise God for his might and power? We know that he can win any battle without effort. We know that his name alone will vanquish any foe. So how are we to act in response to this truth?
Be humble so that the Lord will be exalted. Proclaim the name of the LORD so that he will be glorified. Trust in his power, with your vary life!
This will look very weird to those on this earth that do not know Jesus. A person that is protected by ultimate power and knows it, yet acts like they are not worth it. A person who isn't worth the favor of God, yet he calls on others to realize the same and put their trust in Christ.
The Christian life is a paradox. The mystery of God soaks us in his mercy and grace. Then sends us to bring others to receive the same. O LORD, you are beyond our understanding.

Psalm 20
BibleGateway.com Psalm 20
Too often I try to fight through my struggles. Why don't I just call on the LORD. His name is able to protect me, for his glory.
When we win our brothers and sisters need to shout for joy. Sometimes we are so busy making sure that everyone thinks we are doing just fine that I don't know when to celebrate your victory. Especially if you have been struggling. To open our hearts enough to the people around us, may give us reason to celebrate together more.
When you are in distress it is good to hear stories of those that were helped by God to get through those issues. How can I ever be encouraged if you don't share? How can I proclaim your victory if I don't know it happened. God is the only one that can read your mind. So help me out.
Do not trust in what is in this world (v.7)! My trust is in the LORD God Almighty, the Creator, the Savior, the King of the Universe. Your BMW and fancy neighborhood will be vaporized in an instant at the appearance of my Lord. Rise up Christian! Stand firm. For your King is victorious.
What do you trust in place of God? Your job? Education? Plans? Government?
Do you look at verse 4 and wish it would be true? It will be! The desire of my heart is to see Jesus' glory. As a Christian the only desire that will last into eternity is that one. So do it today! Do not waste time on what you desire here.

Psalm 19
BibleGateway.com Psalm 19
The creation of God speaks of his works. They give us never ending knowledge of God. Especially the heavens. Imagine David looking into the stars and saying how this makes you want to call on God. How we can study the mysterious of space for an age and still be marveling at the Lord's creation.
The Word of the LORD is perfect. They can make you wise, even if you are simple. The word gives joy. The word lights your way, like light to your eyes. God's commands are precious and sweet. Keeping them there is a great reward.
God has made his ways known to us. To follow them makes the normal simple person wise and give him the promise of great reward. How often do we think that God's word is too complicated for us to understand. To gain understanding in it you must spend time in the word. Ask God to help you understand. If you are his child he will be gracious to you. You will understand more than you ever cared to, as long as you keep pressing to obtain the meaning of his word.
Today, ask God that the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart be pleasing to Him.
What can come out of your mouth that will be pleasing to God?
What can you meditate on to be pleasing to our LORD?

Psalm 18
BibleGateway.com Psalm 18
Can anyone say they have been victorious apart from the LORD? Everyone who is saved from the death they deserve is done so by the strength of the Lord God Almighty. Call to the LORD. He will lift you up. He is the one whose actions defeat the enemy. The victory over death is ours, for His glory alone. I am able to say so only be the grace of God.
In my life too many times I should have been swallowed up by my enemies. Those that sought out my destruction. Those that plotted to defile me. Even myself.
God saved me from Hell, and myself. Under my own power I would have destroyed my life trying to save it. Now the Lord Jesus has given me life eternal and I will forever delight in His name.
I love you, O LORD, my strength. v.1

Psalm 17
BibleGateway.com Psalm 17
We call on God to save us from the evil in the world. The men that have reward in this world are those we want to be saved from (v 14)?
God stills the hunger of those he loves. What is it stilled for? In this world there is nothing that will satisfy you. We need the Lord God to keep us from desiring the temporary because just around the corner Jesus will give us our inheritance. We will see his likeness and have more than anyone here on earth can imagine.
Make Christ your treasure today because that is what you will do forever as Christians.

God has secured you and made your place in with him more delightful than you can ever think of. When we think of this we can't help but praise the Lord for he is good. Keep your focus on Jesus and you will not be shaken.
The pleasures of this world are nothing compared to the eternal pleasures God will give us. What can make the suffering in the world managable? How about knowing that in Christ you will get the ability to enjoy Him perfectly! Eternal pleasures, means that things will taste so good in Heaven you will never long for even the finest of food here on earth. The Joy of the Lord will be so complete that you never be distracted away from His glory.
Oh, Lord we long to be in your presence and to see your glory! Please come and end our wait! We will continue here until that day yearning for what is to come.

Psalm 15
BibleGateway.com Psalm 15
How often do we ask how can I stand strong in a land full of so many overwhelmingly wicked people?
Be blameless in your walk, do what is right, speak the truth from your heart.
Do not gossip or slander (even people that deserve it).
Do whatever you can for your neighbor.
Once again do not say bad things about other people.
Honor God's people (even when it is hard) do not lift up the vile (even if it is easy).
Do what you say your will, pay your bills, honor your debts even if it will make your life less comfortable.
Be generous,
do not accept underhanded tricks to become rich or take advantage of the poor and innocent.
He who does these things will never be shaken.
Be counter-cultural, there is a common culture in this world. Selfishness. Do what you can to take care of yourself, el numero uno. How can you stand strong against the tide of this world? Hold on to Jesus and move in a way that seems incorrect to this world. Too often as we live we conform our Christian walk to help us blend into this world. I want to call on myself to NOT blend.

Psalm 14
BibleGateway.com Psalm 14
Could the most foolish people on the planet be the Atheists? To those that know God denying his existence is like denying that we live, breath, eat and drink. The most basic essence of life for humanity is a longing for God and to claim it is all for nothing is the act of a fool.
Seek God so that he may find you among the sons of men. Ask for understanding from him. Be with him as even those that deny His existence will be overwhelmed with dread.
The Lord is our refuge, and His ways cannot be frustrated.
For you who know the Lord Jesus Christ, long for his fortunes to be restored to his people! Treasure what is truly valuable. Rejoice that you have an inheritance with Him who sits on the throne.

Psalm 13
BibleGateway.com Psalm 13
We often feel like God is no where to be found when we look around. You call and call and nothing ever changes. The bad people in the world seem to be doing just fine. They have everything they want and you are stuck with nothing. Everyone is watching you and rejoicing when you stumble. The world loves to see those who trust in Christ fail and struggle because to them it validates their life without hope, love, and purpose. We look only at the first four verses and that is all we see. I description of our darkest of days. How we think at times it will never end. Without verse five and six we would be in the same place as everyone else in the world.
How do we trust in the God's unfailing love? How did David do it? Without salvation from God we can never rejoice. How did David rejoice in salvation in the darkest of times? How can we say the LORD has been good to me in the lowest points in our lives?
Maybe 1 Peter 3:13-18 will help us.
13Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened." 15But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 18For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,
The truth is it is Christ that enables us to say that God is good in the lowest parts of our lives. The hope that we have is that Christ was raised from the dead. Being dead is much lower than anywhere you can ever be. Not mention the way he died, alone on a cross, drained of blood and beaten beyond recognition.
So set apart Christ as Lord. Or the hard times may never have enough hope to make them bearable. For all people they may come and go. Some more than others. Without Jesus there is no purpose to suffer, no reason to perservere, and light to sustain you through the times when you feel most alone.

Psalm 12
BibleGateway.com Psalm 12
Do you ever feel like the only one around that wants to live your life for Jesus? Everyone around you is lying and cheating and give does not recognize that God is ruler and creator of all?
Verse 5 says,
"Because of the oppression of the weak
and the groaning of the needy,
I will now arise," says the LORD.
"I will protect them from those who malign them."
Even when you are outnumbered by the wicked on this earth and you always will be. God will protect you from them. Even when we are temporarily oppressed God will bring us to His presence for eternity.
What "vile" things honored in our culture? How do you know what is vile?
Is there any promise to be seperate from these wicked people?

Psalm 11
Psalm 11
In the LORD I take refuge. The Psalm asks, When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do (v3)? God is still in his temple, he is still on the throne. When you are persecuted, depressed and the world has collapsed around you God is still in the same place. Nothing in heaven has changed. The one place you can put your trust to always be what it says is in Christ. The upright will see his face. How do you know if you are upright? Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but through me." Do you know you will see his face at the end of this life or will fiery coals and burning sulfur rain on you? This isn't just for people who are murderers and thiefs. God will only accept those given to Christ to be in His presence. For in Christ alone are we made clean enough to be brought into the Holy of Holies.

Psalm 10
Psalm 10
The writer here describes wicked men and what they do. They openly defy God. The psalmist calls on The LORD to make things right, to "break the arm of the wicked and evil man". Those that prey on the innocent beware, God will not be mocked. Eventually what you do will come back to you. For eternity you will cry out for relief and have none. So today turn from your evil ways and call out for God to be your King. Live your life to Him that is on the thrown before he takes action against your wickedness. Our God is justified to do so. It is mercy that keeps him from crushing you this instant. Do not wait! His hand will not be stayed forever.
In the description of the wicked man, what reminds of you of our society?
Does it encourage you to know God will hear your cry when you are afflicted?
What is our duty to defend the fatherless and oppressed? Does scripture tell us what this will look like?

Psalm 9
Psalm 9
I will rejoice in your salvation. Why do we worship God like we do? Declare God's praises because he has rescued you from certain destruction. The point is not that I am praising the LORD just because he has saved me, even though I do. The point is not to rejoice because we have avoided "endless ruin", even though we do. The point is that Jesus will reign forever(v.7), he will judge in righteousness(v.8), and he has never forsaken those that seek him (v. 10). The LORD alone is worthy to be praised. He is the point of our salvation. You are saved to savor his worth. To stand in awe of His ways. To treasure the only one worth enough to treasure. All other things are nothing when placed against the awesome worth of the Lord God Almighty. The sin of the world is we forget God (v. 17) and put anything else we can find in His rightful place. To rejoice in His salvation is to know that you have been made to see the worth of Christ and the only possible reaction it to declare His praises. People that don't declare His praises can not see or else they would.
Even if you know Christ it is easy to let the world fool you into looking at something else with the praise you should be giving to Jesus.
What in your life has taken God's rightful place on the throne?
Why is it natural to "proclaim among the nations what he has done"?
If God is really worthy to be praise is there any reason to not proclaim Him to the nations?

Psalm 8
Psalm 8
Our God is amazing. God uses children's praise to silence the enemy. God created all the wonders of creation and he made everything for a specific purpose. All creation reflects his majesty. Then he man to rule over the earth while we are here. He gave us special authority and power to take care of His creation.
How does our care for the Earth glorify God?
What did God entrust to you to rule over?
Read Matthew 25:14-30.
What are we to do with our responsibility here on earth?

Psalm 7
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%207&version=31
The Lord is going to have wrath on the wicked. Often we wonder why God seems to let people who are evil just keep on going with what they are doing. Romans 12:19 says "I will repay says the Lord". We ask the Lord to judge the world and give punishment on those who are doing evil. How often do we ask the Lord to judge us according to our righteousness? David asks God to judge himself, the only way we can do that is to know "My shield is God Most High" (v. 10). Without God interacting on our behalf we could never pass the judgment on our own righteousness.
Is it ok to delight in God's wrath on the wicked?
By what standard is God going to judge our righteousness? What is the only way to meet that standard?
What Bible verses can you remember that show what God demands in terms of our righteousness in order to be in His presence?
A verse to remember from Psalm 7
v.17 I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
A summary of what we are here on earth to do. Give the LORD glory by thanking Him for his righteousness and praising His name. Without his righteousness we could not know Him. Without His zeal for the glory of His name we would all be dashed by the wrath of the LORD Most High.
