Psalm 81:1-16 (ESV)
1 Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob!
2 Raise a song; sound the tambourine, the sweet lyre with the harp.
3 Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.
4 For it is a statute for Israel, a rule of the God of Jacob.
5 He made it a decree in Joseph when he went out over the land of Egypt. I hear a language I had not known:
6 “I relieved your shoulder of the burden; your hands were freed from the basket.
7 In distress you called, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah
8 Hear, O my people, while I admonish you! O Israel, if you would but listen to me!
9 There shall be no strange god among you; you shall not bow down to a foreign god.
10 I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
11 “But my people did not listen to my voice; Israel would not submit to me.
12 So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to follow their own counsels.
13 Oh, that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways!
14 I would soon subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes.
15 Those who hate the Lord would cringe toward him, and their fate would last forever.
16 But he would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”

1. The Lord must be praised.
2. God is patient with your rebellion
3. The very best is found in the presence of God.
The Lord must be praised (v1-4).
God is praised. We must do all that we have to worship him. Sing aloud! Blow the trumpet. The Lord is God alone. We praise the Lord Jesus for His joy and wondrous deeds.
God is patient with you rebellion (v6-15).
We see that when we rebel and reject God he will turn “them over to their stubborn hearts, to follow their own counsels.” (v12) What a frightful thing it might be to left to our own devices! Lord take us now and make us into your people. That we may not let our own ways destroy our relationship with you. The Lord will wait for you to finish fighting. The whole time you are in His hand He will not let go. We need to submit to him and make his ways our ways. “Oh, that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways!” (v13)
The very best is found in the presence of God.(v10,16)
When we finally stop fighting the hold of God we see we can have the very “finest of the wheat” v16 No one will satisfy us except the Lord. He even says to open wide so that we can fill your mouth (v10)! The Lord is truly amazing and only he can make us happy. Come and taste that the Lord is good!

Psalm 80
Psalm 80:1-19 (ESV)
1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock! You who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth. 2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up your might and come to save us! 3 Restore us, O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved! 4 O LORD God of hosts, how long will you be angry with your people’s prayers? 5 You have fed them with the bread of tears and given them tears to drink in full measure. 6 You make us an object of contention for our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves. 7 Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved! 8 You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it. 9 You cleared the ground for it; it took deep root and filled the land. 10 The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches. 11 It sent out its branches to the sea and its shoots to the River. 12 Why then have you broken down its walls, so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit? 13 The boar from the forest ravages it, and all that move in the field feed on it. 14 Turn again, O God of hosts! Look down from heaven, and see; have regard for this vine, 15 the stock that your right hand planted, and for the son whom you made strong for yourself. 16 They have burned it with fire; they have cut it down; may they perish at the rebuke of your face! 17 But let your hand be on the man of your right hand, the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself! 18 Then we shall not turn back from you; give us life, and we will call upon your name! 19 Restore us, O LORD God of hosts! let your face shine, that we may be saved!

Psalm 79
BibleGateway.com Psalm 79
O Lord let us not think we are too far above the mistakes Israel made many years ago. Here in America we the slumbering body of Christ (if this paradox could really exist) have embraced the sins of our neighbors. Ignoring your ways and bring dishonor to your name. Lord forgive us and awaken your Spirit before we too must be "brought very low."(v8)
Lord awaken this slumbering church. If just half of the people that professed to know you followed your call the commission could be finished and we would enjoy the presence of our Savior here.
Lord rise up! Glorify your name in me. Make your name praised among the nations.

I love you and I pray that me and my house will serve you Lord. Not as though you needed to be served by human hands but that you recieve the glory of everything we do that honors you.

Psalm 77
BibleGateway.com Psalm 77
The Psalm begins with how when in trouble we should seek the Lord. What kind of trouble is the author in? He is praying "in the night" but his "soul refuses to be comforted"(v2). He is in some kind of dark place spiritually because his "spirit faints" when he meditates. God is keeping him awake and he is "so troubled" that he can't say a thing(v4).
How often have do we experience this time of dryness or emptiness? There is nothing you can say. God's love seems so far from you. What am I to do?
The Psalm isn't over. Is there something that can be done? Verse 10 says "Then I said, 'I will appeal to this, to the years of the right hand of the Most High.'"
We remember what God has done and who he is. How great and marvelous is the Lord! What is the result?
Verse 16:
"When the waters saw you, O God,
when the waters saw you, they were afraid;
indeed, the deep trembled."
When you are overcome by the world you are drowning but the waters are afraid of my God. They tremble at the sight of the most wonderful and awesome Lord.
At the end we praise God that his path was through the sea. That the hard times that God brings us through bring Glory to His Name and he will always jealously protect his name.
Lord, for your name sake please guide me through this life in a way that you alone receive all glory, honor and praise. May my name perish and yours endure forever and ever. Amen.

How how does God's wrath pile up. Yet our wicked generation ignores the Lord. There is real truth and there will be real judgment. The wrath of God will be all to real to those who have waged war against him.
Lord bring salvation to this earth. May your Kingdom be revealed and all that oppose you will bow and say, "Jesus is Lord".
Lord please help me to be patient in waiting. Knowing you patience is working for the benefit of those you have chosen. Thank you Jesus for loving me.

Psalm 74
BibleGateway.com Psalm 74
Most of the time we as humans wonder at God's time table. Why hasn't he done this yet? or How come this wickedness is still continuing?
The evil that fallen man has brought unto this world will one day cease. We who have been made alive in Christ living as aliens in this place long to see it all end. When will justice be given to all of God's enemies. We were once the enemy of God. He has reconciled us to Himself. When our eyes open we see the war going on. We join the battle through prayer. We ache to see the end of this struggle. We know the end and how it will come. The wonder of when is a battle of trust in Christ. Trust the Lord has the times and places perfectly set. Display that trust by looking forward to that day with eagerness.

25Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.
26My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
As a follower of Jesus I have hope in heaven. I have the promise of the Lord in heaven. He is there for me interceding on my behalf. I want nothing else in this world but Jesus. Lord you are amazing and true. Your promise is hope to those who trust in you.
Please Lord Jesus help me to preservers until the end. I pray that today I will start and finish the day thinking about you and your love. Give me strength to complete what is necessary to glorify you today.
Thank you for being my Lord. I love you Jesus.

Lord may those that persecute the Church today be put to shame and confusion. Be quick to deliver your bride from those seeking her life.
If anyone is in trouble let them seek you and rejoice for God is Great! Most of all Lord, I need you more than anything. Deliver me each day from my inability to honor and glorify your name. Lord be magnified in me.
I can't wait to be in your presence. How long must we wait to see your glory exposed in full on this earth? Your timing is perfect Lord.

Psalm 69
BibleGateway.com Psalm 69
David is in distress because he has sinned in some way (v5). His enemies have started to move in for the kill. He first pleads with God that he knows exactly what he did and these people hate him without cause.
David then pleads that those who hope in the Lord will not also come under attack because of him. David is being made to suffer because of the Lord (v9-12). He asks for deliverance based on the goodness of the Lord (v13-17).
He prays for punishment to come to his enemies. Finally, David states he will praise the Lord with more than mere sacrifice (v31) and he prays that the people of God will rejoice in the Lord also.
Lord help me to pout out my heart to you. That my name will be foolish to the world for your sake. Make your name known to the nations. Delivery me from my faults so that your name will be glorified.
For the sake of your name I pray, Amen.

2.Praise God for His Glory, Sing of His wonderful deeds.
3.He delivered us from slavery.
4.His entry will be triumphant, it will be bigger and better than anything you can imagine.

Do what it takes to Bless the Lord. Lord please give the wisdom to us to bring Glory and Honor and Praise to your name. When we read your word excite us to action. Thank you for the pictures of your strength, righteousness, and glory. Glorify your name Lord! Be Blessed for eternity.

Psalm 67
Psalm 67
The Lord will be praised! We know for a fact that every tribe, tongue and nation will be present in heaven to Praise the King.
He is in control over all the nations. Back then and even today. Pray for political change for the sake of the Gospel. Pray for China to become free so that the Gospel of Jesus Christ could spread in the open. Pray for the softening of hearts in the Muslim world so the love of Christ can conquer the hate and violence in that region. Pray for reform in the "Western" world. So that wickedness will no longer be valued above holiness and righteousness.

Psalm 65
BibleGateway.com Psalm 65
This Psalm shows us 3 truths:
1. The Lord will be praised.
2. His deeds of righteousness ARE awesome.
3. Every provision comes from Him.
Now we can flip the thought process just slightly. Mostly we will praise what ever treats us rightly. Why is this different concerning Christ?
With men, we do praise those that perform in our interest. With Christ he deserves all praise even without doing a single act on our behalf. Sadly, we can never bring Him anything worthy of His majesty. Christ coming and dying on our behalf pays the price to enable us for praise.
Second problem is this: Does the Lord show us righteous deeds BECAUSE of our praise?
In the first answer we see that we are unable to praise Jesus without His Holy Spirit to change our lives. We never live in a contract of praise traded for provision or deeds of righteousness. God is the source of our praise and He is the source of all hope. In the end He gets all the glory.

Psalm 64
Psalm 64
Lord your strength and you power are perfect. Who could stand against you? Only man would presume you to be powerless. Involved in his own affairs to the point he has removed God completely from his life. O how wicked are we who sit in the thrown reserved for the creator and true King.
Our hope is that Jesus' Word is true and he will return and all men will see the marvelous light and then know they have rebelled against the King.
The punishment is just for our insurrection. Will sinful man see it that way once it comes time? Once the marvelous light of Jesus Christ in all his Glory appears on this world in this place. No man will plead not guilty. They will know their eternal punishment is correct and just. When they cry out no one will hear. Isolated and alone for eternity. Tormented by "what if" there will be no relief.
O Lord magnify your name today, bring your victory to this earth now is what we pray. We can no longer stand for you to be defamed in this way.

1. To earnestly seek God.
2. To be satisfied.
3. The Lord's power is real.
Oh, Lord I pray that I can earnestly seek you. That the words: thirst, longs and seeks will someday be used to describe how I followed Jesus.
Lord I pray that I can be satisfied in you above all things. That I will not trade a shadow for what is truly beautiful. Your glory is forever and this world is a breath. Lord make me to live for you glory on this day.
Lord we long for your show of power on this earth to make everything right. Lord keep us from taking your actions into our hands and leaving all vengeance to you and your appointed. Lord may no Christian take up arms to advance the Kingdom of Christ. May we never let the wicked desire for power to foul your name again. Protect your church from the corruption of this world so that your name will be glorified when your bride is pure and whole!

Psalm 61
Psalm 61
Our desire to be heard by God. We do not approach the throne of the Lord with demanding tone. We say, "Hear my cry, listen to my prayer." This places us in the correct relation to God from the very beginning. I am crying out with what is in my life to God and you O Lord are the only one with power. You are God and I am not.
Our greatest desire is to finally be finished with the wretched world. To be in the safety of the creator. To live in the home of the King as adopted sons to forever delight in His presence. I long O Lord Jesus to be with you and to see true satisfaction in my life. To no longer confuse mere amusement for true pleasure. To be so joyous that when I say "I can sing of you love forever; or I am never going to stop praising your name." It will be 100% true.
Lord please help us to long for your true satisfation daily and to forsake this world's notion of lasting pleasure as insufficient to bring glory to the All Mighty Creator and King. Amen.
