Psalm 69

BibleGateway.com Psalm 69

David is in distress because he has sinned in some way (v5). His enemies have started to move in for the kill. He first pleads with God that he knows exactly what he did and these people hate him without cause.
David then pleads that those who hope in the Lord will not also come under attack because of him. David is being made to suffer because of the Lord (v9-12). He asks for deliverance based on the goodness of the Lord (v13-17).
He prays for punishment to come to his enemies. Finally, David states he will praise the Lord with more than mere sacrifice (v31) and he prays that the people of God will rejoice in the Lord also.

Lord help me to pout out my heart to you. That my name will be foolish to the world for your sake. Make your name known to the nations. Delivery me from my faults so that your name will be glorified.
For the sake of your name I pray, Amen.
