Psalm 114

BibleGateway.com - Psalm 114

Lord you alone have the power to part the seas and rivers. Only you can move mountains and hills. Do not let us trust in our own strength. The world tells us to do it all on our own. You Lord will get the glory when what is only you happens, but you Lord control the finest detail of our lives. You have provided each little thing we need. From the shade to cool us from the heat of the sun to the passion to see your Son worshiped in all the ends of the world. You Lord, are working in everything to cause each thing for the good of those that love you. You do not leave anything to chance. You are a sovereign God, you do everything that you please.

Psalm 113

BibleGateway.com - Psalm 113

Praise the Lord! We are to praise him from now to forevermore! Lord, I pray we never stop praising you. May your name be glorified throughout the universe. We praise you because of your power (v4-6) and we praise you because of your mercy (v7-9). You are awesome Lord. Give us your children the strength to praise you for eternity so that your name will be lifted high!

Psalm 112

Psalm 112

For the righteous will never be moved he will be remembered forever. (v6)

The desire of the wicked will perish. (v10)

These 2 lines stood out to me the most in this Psalm. I do not have righteousness that will last forever. Without Christ nothing of me could be deemed righteous. I still desire things that will perish. Does that make me wicked? Apart from Christ nothing I have done is immovable.
This give me a couple of thoughts. How could I ever stop praising Christ for giving me righteousness that will lead to eternal glory and joy in what can never be destroyed? Additionally, why would I ever waste time desiring things that will perish?

Lord work in me each day to trust in what is forever and hope for your glory more and more each day. Remove from me the desires of the wicked. So that your name will be glorified in my life each day.

Psalm 111

Psalm 111

Thank you Lord for everything you have given me. Lord cause me to study your great works and delight in them. You have not let your word be corrupted and we can trust your works are true. Everything you do is right. You never make a mistake or have to wonder at the result. Thank you for sending your redemption in your Son Jesus Christ. So that I can be reconciled to you. Teach me to fear the Lord.

Psalm 110

BibleGateway.com - Psalm 110

Lord bring your power to us! This world is in decay and your people are waiting for you to come and set up a new world, and a new Jerusalem. May Christ come to rule in righteousness. End iniquity forever. How long Lord until your name will be praised instead of defiled on this earth.

Thank you Lord for making me your child. I pray that I can persevere until the end. Lord help me run as I should run the race.

Psalm 109

BibleGateway.com Psalm 109

Lord, do I really despise the wickedness in the world? It seems downright ruthless what David call on the Lord to do in verses 6-15. Can we cry out to God in this way and not have sinful anger in our hearts? I think it is beyond me. Can I share my heart with the Lord the way David does? I hope someday I can pour myself out to the Lord.

Psalm 108

Psalm 108

Lord I pray I can worship and awake the dawn with praises of your name. Please give me a grateful heart for all you have done and given to me.

Make your Glory known to all the earth. Let all fall and worship at the sight of you.

You promise victory to your people.

Without the Lord victory of man is impossible. We cannot beat our own sin. Every sin avoided by us is empowered by God. Any righteousness that we have has been given by Christ. Without the ability to do anything on my own I must trust the LORD!

Psalm 107

BibleGateway.com Psalm 107

The Lord will cause the desert to be fruitful to feed the hungry. God will feed those that hunger for him from the desolate land. God does not need good soil to cause something to grow. He speaks and there is food. Spiritually we are to hunger for the Lord, and I take this part of this Psalm to mean he may take us to the dry desert but that is wear we will see him truly work. God will work in a place where we do not need anything but him and there we will see the Glory of God.

Psalm 106

BibleGateway.com -Psalm 106

How could I look down at the seemingly stupid rebellion of the Israelites during the Old Testament? I think things like, man if I lived back then there is no way I would be so dumb. Not so fast.

With mounting unbelief in God's promises I am just as bad as the rebellion at the Red Sea or before they entered into the Promised Land the first time. Here is how (for me personally):
1. I do not trust the Lord when I worry about how to pay all the bills.
2. I rebel when I insist on my notions of doing what is right over what God has put before me.
3. I rebel when I do not get into His Word daily.
4. I bow to idols when I let a TV schedule determine when I will worship.
5. I bow to idols when I let the world define to me what is important in this life.

Lord deal with my unbelief. Thank you for showing me your mercy and love when I deserve to be crushed then zapped off your earth. Praise to the Lord, the Glorious One, your grace is sufficient for me.

Psalm 105

BibleGateway.com Psalm 105

Praise the Lord for what he has done to chose for himself a people. Our God is mighty and his will cannot be thwarted. He has known from the beginning those he would make into his own. Thank you Lord for buying me with the ultimate price. I pray that today I will live as though your grace is enough for me. That in my weakness your Power will be shown. So that the name of Jesus will be praised.
